The Racquet Club of Philadelphia is a members’ only private club. Currently, the Club boasts over 1,000 prominent men and women as members. Both full Athletic (Playing) membership, House (non Playing) memberships and Non-Resident memberships are available.
Playing Members take full advantage of the Racquets, International Squash, Doubles Squash, and Court Tennis courts, as well as access to the Professional Athletes on Staff. House Members enjoy the unparalleled city club facilities, which include formal as well as casual dining, the main bar, traditional reading room, sauna and steam rooms, pool and darts, well appointed overnight accommodations, and access to private meeting/dining rooms. House members can also access the 24 hour state of the art fitness facility, receive personal training or massage, and use the Barber Shop. The club also offers affinity groups within the club around interests such as golf, sailing, and wine.
Prospective members must be proposed by a current member and a secondary member both in good standing. To begin the application process, the proposing and seconding members will write a letter in favor of the prospective member. These letters will be sent to the elective committee along with a completed membership application. Once the application and letters have been received and accepted, the name of the proposed will be posted in the lobby for a full one month cycle. Upon the conclusion of the posting period, all applicants in the current month will be invited to meet with the elective committee. The meeting is typically located in the "1889" Main Bar at 6:00pm on a weekday. The tone of this meeting is fairly casual, however, there is a required dress code of coat and tie for gentlemen. Ladies please refer to the club's dress code here. After meeting with the elective committee, you will be informed of your membership status by a staff member of the club with in a few weeks.
